Buyer Question

What Does Salt-Air Safe Mean?

Salt-air safe construction means the build is specified for coastal corrosion: stainless fixings, corrosion-resistant components and sealed bases. It matters more for the hardware than for the foliage, which is polymer and does not rust.

What actually fails near the coastSteel fixings and untreated hardware corrode, and corrosion stains planters and decks long before foliage looks tired. Stainless fixings are the standard answer for exposed coastal work.
Where we specify itBeach resorts, pool decks, marinas, cruise decks and Gulf coastal sites. Not a generic outdoor label — the exposure is engineered per site.

Related Questions

No. Outdoor rated covers UV and weather; salt-air safe addresses corrosion from coastal exposure. A coastal site needs both, which is why we specify stainless fixings separately.

Stainless fixings are specified for coastal and marine exposure. Inland interiors do not need them, and we do not upsell hardware a site does not require.
