Desert and coastal sites are the harshest cases: high UV plus salt air degrades both foliage colour and metal fixings. Specification clauses written without test evidence give the supplier room to substitute a cheaper foliage.

We specify UV50+ foliage tested to ASTM G154 and use stainless fixings on coastal sites, then issue the test documentation with the project so the specification you paid for is the specification you receive.
