PRODUCTION CAPABILITY

Hand-Carved Bark Finishing, One Trunk at a Time

Project Background

Bark texture is what separates a convincing tree from a moulded prop. We carve the bark by hand on every large trunk, so no two trees share the same surface pattern — which matters when a project specifies several trees that must not look cloned.

Specifications

MethodHand carving and texturing over a welded core
Fissure depth3–8 mm depending on species
FinishWater-based paint and hand-applied pigment
OptionalMoulded olive fruit, moss patches, bark knots
Panel jointTrunk assembled in sections for shipping, joints blended

Client Challenge

Texture printed or moulded from the same master repeats identically across a batch. Clients ordering five feature trees for one atrium notice the repetition immediately, and the batch reads as a prop rather than a landscape.

Solution

We carve each trunk individually and vary fissure depth and placement per tree. Numbered branch tags record which limb belongs where, so the tree reassembles correctly after container shipping.
